Bauble: Earrings with Integrated Bluetooth Technology for Skin Temperature Monitoring
Researchers from the University of Washington have engineered a groundbreaking innovation in wearable technology: thermal earrings named "Bauble," capable of accurately measuring skin temperature, as reported by the New York Post.
Described as a pioneering smart earring, Bauble represents a significant advancement in continuous temperature monitoring wearables, according to findings from the UW study.
Each earring boasts a sophisticated array of components, including an antenna, two temperature sensors, a built-in Bluetooth chip, and an impressive 28-day battery life. Compact in design, the high-tech earrings measure 11.3 x 31 x 335 millimeters and weigh a mere 335 milligrams.
Functionally, one temperature sensor attaches to the ear via an adorned magnetic clip, while the other sensor measures room temperature, adorned with a resin fashion design. Notably, the earring seamlessly transitions into a power-saving mode upon temperature detection, optimizing the utilization of its battery life for prolonged use.
